The Young ClassX

The Young ClassX is a music initiative that Angelika developed in 2007 together with Otto Group CEO Alexander Birken to give children and young people access to classical music free of charge. In 2019, The Young ClassX was awarded the German Cultural Promotion Prize of the Cultural Circle of German Business in the BDI and in 2022 received the OPUS Klassik in the category Promotion of Young Musicians.

Salut Deluxe

22020 Angelika founded the association SalutDeluxe together with the hip-hop artist Samy Deluxe with the aim of musically stimulating and promoting children and young people regardless of their social background as well as making them fit for teamwork and personal responsibility so that they grow up to be open, strong personalities. It is a place of experimentation without arrogance and hurdles - where creativity can be lived out.

Kindernothilfe

Since 2003, Angelika has been an ambassador for Kindernothilfe and has repeatedly worked in Kindernothilfe projects on site in Brazil, Haiti, Kosovo, Rwanda and Sri Lanka, among others. In the same year Salut Salon took over the sponsorship of the music school Escuela Popular de Artes in Chile in cooperation with Kindernothilfe. Founded in 1997, the music school is located in the Achupallas slum near Viña del Mar at the foot of Chile's largest irregular poor settlement.

Ghetto Classics

The project is aimed at young string players who live in Korogocho, one of the largest slums in Kenya, directly on the garbage dump of Nairobi with about 300,000 people in extreme poverty. Right next to the music room, which has no window panes, a seemingly endless desert of garbage burns. The smell of burning plastic wafts into the rehearsal room from all sides.

Die Coolen Streicher

IIn this orchestra, children and young people between the ages of five and 19 play violin, cello, viola and double bass together. They play without a conductor and without sheet music, there is no first and especially no second violin. There is no orchestra hierarchy, but godparents. The big ones help the little ones. As children, they learn to play their own parts, not to stare at their music stands, but to look at each other as they play.
